This was my submission for my final project in Critical studies. It looks at the continuing stigmatisation that comic books/graphic novels have even in 21st century western culture.
When I first started to investigate it, I thought it would be a class based issue and to certain extents it was, but it turned out to be wider tan that and not just limited to traditional boundaries.
I was also fairly certain that some people would be put off by this being 'obviously not serious' and laid a trap in the first few pages for that reaction by breaking the forth wall and having the characters directly address the reader.
There are three characters:
Myself, covered in poo and a bit dim at times.
The Brain, which asks the pointed questions and supplies facts. (Anatomy again.)
A woman who is smart and knowledgeable.
